Unisys South Africa Limited, (Incorporated in Delaware, USA) was formed in June 1995 and was registered as Unisys Africa Limited on 13 March 2000. More recently Unisys Africa Limited was converted into a locally registered company by means of an order granted in terms of section 334 of the Companies Act, hence the change in registration number. Such order transferred all the operations of Unisys Africa Limited (which was registered branch office), to a locally registered private company, which conversation has no effect on the business and operations of Unisys, or on the terms and conditions of any Contract in effect at the time of conversion.
In August 2005, Cyberknowledge Systems International (Pty) Limited bought 30% of the shares in Unisys Africa. The remaining 70% of the shares are held by Unisys Corporation based in USA. Cyberknowledge Systems Holdings (Pty) Ltd, the majority shareholder in Cyberknowledge Systems International, has 25% of its shares owned by Investec (themselves 25% black owned) and the other 75% are owned by black individuals.
